Route Planning

This website and app allows you to create a route by entering locations, and coordinate how many days you will stay in each spot. The time to travel between each stop is automatically calculated. You can also see a summary of gas usage, miles traveled, and hours traveled.

This site is a lot like RVParky, but it’s $30 a year. You can look for fun and unique stops along your route, though, which is handy!

Where to Stay (Boondock)

Boondockers Welcome

A membership-based service where landowners offer up a spot on their land for you to stay for up to 5 nights. Some even have hook-ups! There is also a new app for BW. To become a member, it is $80/year.

Harvest Hosts

1175+ participating wineries, breweries, and farms that allow you to stay for a night on their property. To become a member, it is $50/year.

Users submit places they’ve camped or boondocked and report how much they’ve paid. There are a ton of boondocking spots on here, in addition to parks and campgrounds, depending on the filters you choose.

Basically AirBnB for campers. Tent camping, RV parks, cabins, treehouses, and glamping. I filter for <$25 per night and only use this if I can’t find a free spot from the previous resources.

Other Apps/Sites That I Live By

GPS: CoPilot

I use CoPilot, a free app on my iPhone. When I first downloaded it, I input my RV’s height and length, and I haven’t had any problems! You can download maps by region so you’ll always have directions, regardless of your cell service.

Dog-Friendly Activities: Bring Fido

BringFido is the world’s leading pet travel site and lifestyle brand. On their app, you can explore over 250,000 pet friendly places to stay, play, and eat with your dog.

Share Your Memories: TrackMyTour

I found TrackMyTour when looking for a way to show my friends and family where my current location on my path was. All you do is upload photo(s) and the geotagging will do the rest! You can view your points in a map (like the screenshot on the right), or in a list form with photos. It’s a website and an app, as well.

Test Your Internet – SpeedTest

I use SpeedTest whenever I get to a new spot at which I’ll be working, just to make sure my internet is strong enough. Connect your phone to your internet (mine is a hotspot) and click “Go”!
